SCREED (Sand)

1. The action of smoothing out the sand base or the gravel base to a certain level.  In paver installation it is done leveling the base using pipes as guides.  
2. The action of smoothing out the sand to a certain level.
3. The action of leveling base using pipes as guides.

EXAMPLE:

You must always screed the sand before installing pavers.
