DBA means “Doing Business As.” It is a fictitious name that is used so that the legal name of a company doesn’t need to be changed. This is useful when you have a business with a corporate name that no longer properly reflects the type of business they conduct.
EXAMPLE: Pacific Pavingstone, Inc. was a company that installed paving stones solely. As time went on it evolved into landscape design building that focused more on the outdoors around homes. Thus Pacific Outdoor Living became the, DBA, or trade name used in conducting business with customers.
