AMMONIA

  1. A waste product excreted through fish gills. Ammonia is toxic to the fish, so it is important to reduce ammonia levels by use of pond products or natural methods.
  2. AMMONIA (NH3) One of the beginning steps in the nitrogen cycle. It is toxic to most aquatic organisms, and levels should be un-measurable after your pond has cycled.

EXAMPLE:

Test kits are available to determine the amount of ammonia in a pond ecosystem so treatment can be done as needed.
