LET-IN-BRACE

  1. A structural member inlaid on a diagonal angle in wall framing. The let-in brace provides lateral strength for the wall. It i called a “let-in” brace because it is notched into the studs.
  2. An “L” shaped, long (about 10′) metal strap that are installed by the framer at the rough stage to give support to an exterior wall or wall corner.
