REBAR, REINFORCING BAR

  1. Rebar (short for reinforcing bar) is a steel bar or mesh of steel wires used to reinforce concrete and masonry structures to strengthen them and to hold the concrete in place. 
  2. Ribbed steel bars installed in foundation concrete walls, footers, and poured in place concrete structures designed to strengthen concrete. Comes in various thicknesses and strength grade. 
  3. A steel bar in reinforced concrete.

EXAMPLE:

Pete put a rebar mesh to strengthen the concrete pavement.
