Low head drainage is a problem that occurs in irrigation systems when sprinklers are placed on a sloped area. When the irrigation system is turned off, all of the existing water flows to the end of the pipeline due to gravity. As a result, the water at the lower level sprinkler head leaks or “drains” water.
