GLOBE VALVE

  1. A type of valve used for regulating flow in a piping system. Globe valves have a moveable stopper which is used to restrict the flow in the pipe.
  2. A valve that lets you adjust the flow of water to any rate between fully on and fully off. Also see gate valve.
  3. A valve configured with its outlet oriented 180 degrees from its inlet. In irrigation, these valves are generally installed so that the inlet and outlet are parallel to the ground.

EXAMPLE:
The plumber I hired used a globe valve for my outside hose connection.
