- The material, usually silica sand or crumb rubber (ground up tires), that is spread on top of synthetic grass to maintain blade stability and add cushioning. Traditional infill turfs require between 2-3 pounds of crumb rubber and/or sand per square foot and are often filled with 1″ or more of infill over the entire turf area.
- This is a granular material such as sand or rubber pellets about the size of sand grains. Infill is distributed on top of artificial grass to keep the lawn fibers standing (sand or rubber) and to give the synthetic lawn cushion (rubber).
